Dulce de Leche Cupcakes

Hello Everyone!
Welcome back to the blog :) This week we're making cupcakes that have dulche de leche incorporated both in the icing and as a decoration
So let's get started...

You will need:
  • 280g plain flour
  • 15g baking powder
  • 125g caster sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 240ml milk
  • 85g melted butter
  • tub of dulce de leche
  • petal tip
  • open star tip
1. Preheat your oven to 200°C and place some cupcake/ muffin cases into a muffin tray

2.Mix together the flour, baking powder and sugar

3. In a jug, whisk together the egg, milk and melted butter

4. Add the wet ingredients to the dry, and mix until you have a smooth mixture

5. Place ice-cream scoop amounts of batter into each case, until you have used up all the batter

6. Pop into the oven and bake for approximately 20 minutes

7. Once the cupcakes are out of the oven, transfer to a wire rack and allow them to cool completely

8. To make the icing, beat together 50g butter, 100g icing sugar and one tablespoon of dulce de leche

9. Pipe a ring of icing on each cupcake; placing the ring more towards the center of the cupcake, rather than around the cupcake's perimeter. To make the ring look more delicate and fancy, I piped using a back and forth motion to give the look of a ruffle

10. Fill another piping bag with a tip and some dulche de leche. Pipe a simple swirl of the dulche de leche into the middle of each icing ring
And you're done!
Thank you all so much for reading!! I hope you enjoyed, and I'll be back again soon :)
