Dark Chocolate & Orange Cookies

Hello Everybody!
This week I whipped up some dark chocolate and orange cookies and they were good! They nearly had a similar taste to Terry's Chocolate Orange but not quite as the chocolate is darker
So let's get started...

You will need:

  • 225g butter
  • 140g caster sugar
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 280g plain flour
  • 200g dark chocolate chips
  • one orange - zest and half of the juice

1. Preheat the oven to 190°C and line a tray with silicone paper

2. Beat the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy

3. Add the egg yolk and half an orange worth of juice

4. Mix in the flour until the dough is just about combined, at this stage add in the chocolate chips and the orange zest, continue to mix until you have a smooth dough

5. Taking an ice-cream scoop, place scoops of the mixture onto the tray, spaced apart

6. Wet the back of a spoon and use it to lightly flatten the cookies, below you'll see the difference between the flattened and unflattened cookies

7. Pop into the oven for about 10-12 minutes

8. Remove from the oven, allowing to cool slightly before you dig in

And you're finished!

Thank you for reading guys, hope you enjoyed and I'll see you all again soon :)
