I'm back blogging this week, and just in time for Valentine's Day. If you're looking for something adorable and V-day themed to bake, you've come to the right place
So let's get started...
You will need:
- 50g butter
- 50g caster sugar
- 1 egg
- 50g self-raising flour
- 100g melted milk chocolate
- cake pop mould and sticks
- 75g butter
- 75g icing sugar
- 1tbsp milk
- food colouring of your choice
- white and red fondant
- black writing icing
- toothpicks
- grass piping nozzle
1. Preheat the oven to 190°C
2. These cake pops use the all-in-one method so place all the ingredients into your mixer and beat until incorporated and smooth
3. Place the mixture into the cake pop moulds, filling to just below the top rim so that the mixture isn't spilling out
4. Seal the cake pop mould and bake in the oven for approximately 12 minutes. As the cake pops are small they don't take long in the oven but make sure you keep an eye on them!
5. Remove the cake pops from the oven and allow to cool
6. While the cake pops are cooling, place the 75g icing sugar, 75g butter, 1tbsp milk and food colouring into a bowl and mix to form the icing. Transfer the icing into a piping bag fitted with a grass tip
7. Taking some white fondant, make some small circles for the eyes of each cake pop. After you've made the circles, pipe a tiny bit of the black writing icing onto each eyeball to act as a pupil
8. Roll out some red fondant and cut out two miniature hearts for each cake pop. Stick a toothpick/ cocktail stick into one end of each heart
9. Place a cake pop stick into each cake pop and pipe the icing all over the cake pops surface
10. Stick the hearts into the top of the cake pops and add the eyes to the centre
And you're finished!
Thanks for reading, I hope you have a great Valentine's Day and I'll see you soon :)
