Hi Everyone!
Happy Halloween! If you're looking for something last minute that is both easy to bake and delicious, this is the perfect post for you. Everyone loves cupcakes so why not put a Halloween spin on them to make a perfectly spooky treat
So let's get started...
You will need:
- 40g butter
- 140g caster sugar
- 1 egg
- 20g cocoa powder
- pinch of salt
- 120ml milk
- 100g self raising flour
- 4 tablespoons of jam
- 95g butter
- 190g icing sugar
- food colouring
- Halloween decorations/ sprinkles, I would recommend these and these amazing Cake Angels' ones
1. Preheat your oven to 170°C and line a cupcake tray with some black cupcake cases
2. Gently mix together the flour, cocoa powder, salt and butter
3. In a separate jug, whisk together the egg and milk
4. In additions add the liquid ingredients to the butter mix until all incorporated and you have a smooth batter
5. I then used an ice cream scoop to place the mixture into the cases. This recipe made only ten cupcakes for me and they were quite small, so you can either make less cupcakes but bigger in size, or double the mixture
6. Pop into the oven for 15-20 minutes
8. Fill a piping bag with the jam and cut the tip off the bag. Inject the jam into the holes on each cupcake
9. Next make the icing by mixing 95g butter with 190g icing sugar and some food colouring of your choice, I chose a pale green colour
10. Using a 1M tip, I piped an icing swirl onto each cupcake
11. Choose your decorations to put on your cupcakes, place them and then admire your creative work ;)
And you're finished!
Thank you for reading and I hope you enjoyed. Enjoy your Halloween however you plan to celebrate (or not at all) and I'll see you again soon :)
