Hi Everyone!
I have another sneaky blog post for some last minute Halloween treats using marshmallows and pretzels. These are all relatively easy to make and I have four different ideas
So let's get started...
I'll start with the pretzel treats:
Everything you'll need:
- pretzels
- orange candy melts
- green M&Ms/ Smarties
- white writing icing
- black writing icing
- red writing icing
- black candy melts
- white chocolate buttons
Pumpkins:
1. Melt your orange candy melts. The amount of candy melts you'll need depends on how many pretzels you're using. But if you melt too much, you can spread the excess onto a bit of silicone paper and when it hardens it can go back into the bag.
2. Place the pretzels onto some silicone paper and drop about a teaspoon of the melted candy melts on top of each pretzel. You may need to take a spoon and help spread the chocolate over the entire pretzel.
3. Take a green M&M and stick it into the chocolate at the top of the pretzel.
4. An optional step to make the pretzels look a bit more pumpkin-y is to use some black writing icing and ice on a face.
Monsters:
1. Take some white chocolate buttons, two per monster, and use some writing icing to ice a dot onto the centre of each button to form an eye.
2. Melt the black candy melts and place some pretzels onto a piece of silicone paper. If you can't find candy melts and you can stomach it, you could use super dark chocolate.
3. Again drop about a teaspoon of chocolate onto each pretzel, using a spoon to guide the chocolate.
4. Place two of the buttons/ eyes towards the top of each pretzel.
5. An optional step to make these creepier is to take red writing icing and ice a fairly big circle to represent a mouth
6. Take white writing icing and had some teeth by icing a couple dots at the top and bottom of the mouth.
Now it's onto the marshmallow treats!
You'll need:
- white marshmallows
- black, brown, red & white writing icing
- cake pop/ lollipop sticks
- dark green candy melts
Skulls:
These are super easy to make. Stick a marshmallow onto a cake pop stick, take some black writing icing and draw a face. You can make it happy, sad or scary - it's all up to you :)
Frankenstein:
1. Stick a couple marshmallows onto sticks and melt some dark green candy melts
2. Dip each marshmallow into the chocolate, making sure you completely cover them.
3. Use the black and white writing icing to draw eyes onto each marshmallow
4. Draw on a mouth with the black writing icing and a little scar with the red writing icing.
5. Lastly add some hair with the brown writing icing
And those are all my last minute Halloween treat ideas using marshmallows and pretzels!
Enjoy and I'll see you soon :)
